Greenwich council also offer a bulk collection service for domestic things like fridges, carpets etc. There is a basic price of £10.71 per item (or £2.60 per bag for bagged items - min £10.71). More details here
Alternatives suggested by Greenwich (with links here) are:
take items to the Nathan Way Reuse and Recycling Centre
take items to our RePurpose shop in Magpie Lane (next to the Re-use and Recycling Centre in SE28)
pay another licensed waste carrier to dispose of the goods.
If the items are in working order and of good quality, you could donate them to a charity or pass them on through a reuse network.
Local places to donate are:
